There are all sorts of makes and models available in our Northern Ireland online car auctions, including those from globally renowned manufacturers like Mercedes, Peugeot and BMW. You can skip all the hassle, expense and time that you’d usually have to contend with in order to attend physical auctions, especially since there’s a lot of thinking under pressure involved, which can make these overwhelming for first-time buyers. Instead, bidding on online car auctions in Northern Ireland means you can buy your new motor without having to leave the comfort of your own home.

How do online car auctions work?

It couldn’t be simpler - all you have to do is search, sign up, and start bidding! In almost no time at all, you’ll be browsing our stock of used, seized and salvage vehicles in Northern Ireland, searching for one that you can pick out at your leisure.

We’ve designed our site so that all the listings for cars, vans, motorcycles are all clear to see and simple to understand, making it as quick and easy as possible for you to inspect each vehicle. So no matter your level of expertise - whether you’re buying your second or third auction car, or you’re a first time buyer - you can count on easy, quick, jargon free explanations that tell you the condition of the car, the state of its paperwork, and whether it’s suited for your needs.

Quick answers to your auction car questions

  1. Who can buy an auction car?

As long as you’re not legally prohibited from doing so for whatever reason, almost anyone can buy a salvage car from our online car auctions. Our buyers span several demographics, from first-time buyers looking for their first motor, to mechanics looking to fix up and sell on a suitable salvage car, to people looking for specific models to replace a beloved vehicle.

  2. Where do your vehicles come from?

We source our vehicles from several areas. Some of our auction cars are sent on to us from private sellers, whereas our seized vehicles are sold at the direction of police. Many of our salvage cars, on the other hand, are sold at the direction of car insurance companies. Before these cars reach us, they’ll be assigned a salvage category (sometimes known as a salvage title) by the Association of British Insurers.

  3. What are the different salvage titles for auction cars?

There are four different salvage titles, which are intended to provide a rough indication of the car’s condition at a glance. In October of 2017, two of these were updated with new names. Here’s the full list:

    • Category N (formerly Cat D) – non-structural faults
    • Category S (formerly Cat C) – notable structural damage
    • Category B – extensive structural damage
    • Category A – beyond any repair. Strictly scrap only*

We’ve included Category A vehicles in the interests of clarity, but we don’t stock Cat A vehicles here at RAW2K. Since they’re so badly damaged by definition, even the most mechanically skilled of our customers don’t view them as being worth the time.
